Monumental Memories: Sale Cemetery by Glenys Wain, Kylie Rhodes and Linda Barraclough. 40 pages plus map. A guide designed to ‘walk’ the reader around one of  Gippsland’s oldest cemeteries. Biographies of more than 100 of those buried are included. $7.50.

Monumental Memories: Bairnsdale Cemetery by Tim Gibson. 40 pages plus map. The second book in the series, this guide is to the Bairnsdale cemetery, which includes a significant Chinese area. $7.50.  

Bairnsdale Courthouse: A Centenary Reflection by James O’Connor. 48 pages. A lively account of the construction of this architecturally important building. The original plans and previously unknown photographs have been included, along with details of early court cases. $9.00  

Briagolong Mechanics’ Institute: More than a Place of Amusement by Linda Barraclough and Dorothy Watt. 32 pages. The Institute was placed on the Register of the National Estate in 1986 and is a building of great character. The first section was built in 1874, and is believed to be the oldest operating Mechanics’ building in Gippsland, and contains a significant historic library. Includes a surname index and reproductions of the pioneer photographs displayed in the hall. $6.00
